Giroud shines again as Arsenal beat Nagoya Grampus 3-1

Hello,
Yesterday saw us beat Nagoya on their home turf in a match much more thrilling, than two previous ones.
We opened the scoring in the 3rd minute already. Some quick-tempo passing down the right flank resulted in Rosicky sending a wonderful cross into the box, which Giroud converted with his head. Another moment of brilliance from the Frenchman makes it 6 for him in three games. He seems to gathering momentum, and I hope, he keeps it up, when the campaign starts.
In the 25th minute, Giroud sparked into life again, this time making a run inside the box, which saw a defender handle the ball in a desperate sliding tackle. Arteta made an on-spot decision to let Miyachi take the penalty and Ryo put it away calmly and beautifully.
We added a third in the 55th minute. A brilliant pass from Zelalem, who's been active throughout the game, cut Nagoya's defense open, and Theo made no mistake in a one-on-one situation.
After that, the game was essentially over, though Nagoya did pull one back in the 77th minute, after some below par defensive effort from Arsenal.
After the match, Arsene had some nice words to say about our performance:
We played with good focus and high pace. We played with a good attitude and at this moment of the season we look quite sharp. We have no injuries as well.
The boss also confirmed Monreal's injury and, worse still, said the Spaniard will miss the start of the season because of this. With Santos having left for Flamengo and Vermaelen injured, Gibbs is our only left-back right now. While he's definitely our left-back of choice, his injury record make the situation extremly unstable. We now have a problem more serious, that that of striker-shortage. I've lost count, how much I used the word "hope" during this transfer window, but I do HOPE Williams stuff has some truth to it.
As opposed to Bernard and Suarez latest. Bernard signing was denied by the manager, when questioned about it in the Mirror. Worse still, the same Mirror reports Arsenal is ready to pay £40 million for Suarez. Should Liverpool accept it, it'll be a waste like I've never seen before. I've already discussed, why he's worse, than Higuain, but the amount of money we seem to be willing to pay for him, is absurd. Fingers crossed, The Mirror is making it up.
On a more positive note, Rosicky has given an interview, in which he expressed the desire to finish his career with Arsenal. There wasn't much more to the story, but, amid players changing clubs at every possible oppurtunity for a pay rise, such devotion is hard to find. His best years are behind, no doubt, but he still manages to add that extra zip, when called upon. It'll only be good for all concerned, if he indeed finishes his career with us.
That's all for today. Back tomorrow
