Hi,
Quite a bit going on regarding transfer news today.
Starting with Ancelotti signing a three-year deal with Real Madrid. Quite to what extent it may or may not influence Higuain`s transfer remains to be seen, but, ultimately, the Galacticos now don`t have even a formal reason to stall the negotiations.
Higuain`s brother, who is, at the same time, his agent, confirmed once more, that Arsenal have made an offer for the Argentine, while also saying the Gunners are now favourites to win Gonzalo`s signature. Juve (having announced Tevez arrival) seem to have lost interest in another striker. Maybe, they can no longer afford so marquee a signing. Napoli also popped up as a potential destination, but I am inclined to think it was only added to the mix heat things up. As far as I know, no offer has been made by Italians. So it looks like La Liga forward is inching ever closer to joining us. Arsenal being Arsenal, of course, one can never be quite sure, how all this will end, but things are looking good for now. Fingers crossed this one can go through.

Elsewhere, Johan Djourou seems to be targeted by Hannover-96 and Hamburg simultaneously. Having impressed, while playing for the former, Arsenal are likely to allow the loan extension, presumably with a buy-out clause included. Hamburg, however, is no less interested in buying the Swiss international on a permament basis, in order to strengthen the centre-back position. While such a situation can only be good for all concerned, it may (and, probably, will) result in us needing to buy another defender. How Arsene handles that remains to be seen. It won't be easy, finding someone to be fourth-choice centre-back.
Finally for today, a word must go to Yaya Sanogo, who is a part of France Under-20 team at the World Cup. His display has again caught the eye with another good performance, this time against USA. He now has two goals in two games and may, in the end, prove a worthy add-on, if not at senior level just yet, than definitely as part of the youth squad, in some way filling the void left by a bunch of our talented youngsters leaving. I guess, we`ll have to just wait and see.
That`s all for today. More tomorrow.
